– Down Payment – At minimum, 10% of the total purchase price. A 20% down payment avoids paying for lender’s mortgage insurance.
– Stamp Duty – A tax paid to the state government, varies depending on property value and location. Typically between 3-7% of the purchase price.
– Legal Fees – Covers the conveyancer or solicitor to handle contracts and paperwork. Around $2,000 on average.
